I've been "off the grid", camping with my family for the last few days. It was a great trip with cool mountain weather, fishing, hiking, paddle-boating, putt-putting, swimming, late-night campfires, and of course - s'mores! Now that I'm home, I'll be working on a different kind of s'more - the
S'More Tech Camp being hosted by Cari at
The Centered School Library. I'm so excited about this "summer camp"! I had a few days of catching up to do, but it's been fun exploring all the great websites/ideas that have already been featured! I also like that I'm compiling all of the information in a PowerPoint file so that I'll know exactly how to get back to all these great sites and have an example of each one. I've had an especially good time with the
Build Your Wild Self website and
Tagxedo. I can see us building our wild selves in conjunction with animal research projects and Tagxedo (or
Wordle) could be used for lots of things - author studies, poetry projects, book summaries/reviews, character studies, biography projects, or book lists, just to name a few. Other summer camp activities that have been featured so far are
SnagFilms and
Fakebook - both great resources! I can't wait to see what will be next! Cari has lots of great links in her posts so be sure to visit her
blog. Thanks for reading! ~D
